Midnight Mayhem: Fleeing Driver’s Fatal Crash Closes Mariner Boulevard After High-Speed Chase

A 25-year-old Spring Hill man died late Tuesday night on February 26, 2025, after losing control of his Dodge Charger during a high-speed pursuit initiated by Pasco County Sheriff’s Deputies. Speeding northbound on Mariner Boulevard and attempting reckless lane changes, he struck a curb near Lindsay Drive while overtaking a Ford Mustang driven by a 48-year-old woman. The collision redirected his vehicle into the Mustang’s rear, spinning it onto the roadside before the Charger careened into a concrete wall at Seven Hills Plaza. Ejected due to being unrestrained, the man succumbed to injuries at a hospital, while the woman survived with non-life-threatening wounds. Mariner Boulevard remained closed until 5:00 AM as Florida Highway Patrol and Pasco County authorities investigated the chaotic aftermath of the chase-turned-tragedy.
