The Avalon Park Group hosted a grand opening celebration for a new community park located in downtown Avalon Park, Wesley Chapel on September 25. Residents, families and guests attended the event which featured live music and various family-friendly activities to mark the official opening of the facility. During the festivities, the group announced the winner of their park naming contest. Community member Desiree Gutierrez was recognized for submitting the winning name Avalon Park Common which will be used for the new public space. A bandshell is also planned for installation at Avalon Park Common with construction scheduled to begin in early 2027.
