Communities across Pasco County are gearing up to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with nearly two weeks of patriotic events. Residents and visitors in New Port Richey, Dade City, and Zephyrhills can enjoy a variety of activities including fireworks displays, concerts, family fun zones, parades, and paddle events. The City of New Port Richey will kick off the celebrations with an afternoon event featuring bounce houses, water slides, food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks show over Orange Lake. Annual SummerFest in Zephyrhills offers local vendors, a kids zone, pony rides, and live entertainment before fireworks light up Zephyr Lake. A patriotic paddle event allows participants to row from James E. Grey Preserve into downtown New Port Richey while enjoying food trucks and live music. SunWest Park will host a ceremony recognizing veterans and first responders before guests move to John S. Burks Memorial Park for a fireworks finale in Dade City. The annual patriotic parade invites families to bring decorated bicycles, wagons, and strollers with awards given for the most patriotic entries. Additional events include free train rides at a community celebration and the Scallop & Music Festival returning for a second weekend of entertainment and seafood.
