Pasco County Commission Divided Over Wesley Chapel Mixed Use Development

A Pasco County proposal to transform a 32.5-acre site near I-75 into a mixed-use ‘town center’ with retail, office, hotel, and housing sparked debate. Commissioners disagreed on the balance between commercial and residential space, with some arguing for more office jobs and others supporting the mixed-use plan for its walkability and future revenue. The proposal passed 3-2, despite criticisms about oversupply of apartments and reduced parking.
