Zephyrhills police are asking the public for information regarding Carlton McCarthy Ireland, who has been missing since April 2007. The 54-year-old man last made contact with authorities when he paid his water bill on April 18 and sold a ring at a Tampa pawn shop on April 23. His red 1997 Toyota Tercel also disappeared around the same time and has never been recovered. Ireland was born in Jamaica but frequently visited Tampa and Dade City, where he often attended dog track races. Police Chief Derek Brewer believes that someone who may have witnessed something back then might be willing to come forward now. The department encourages anyone with information about Ireland or his vehicle to contact them directly or call Crime Stoppers anonymously.
