Residents Oppose Commercial Development Proposal In Kenton Roads Area Of Pasco County

At Pasco County Planning Commission, residents opposed Kenton Road commercial development converting farmland to community hub. Proposal includes storage, retail and hotel rooms across ten acres. Locals cited runoff issues from new construction on dirt roads already strained by nearby facilities. Developer promised infrastructure including completing missing road segment with traffic signal. Board member Jon Moody questioned vague social gathering area definitions but approved advancing project. Despite neighborhood privacy concerns and objections about hotels attracting transients, commission voted unanimously to proceed. County will reimburse developer for road work while requiring proportional contribution for traffic signals.
