Bert Swartz, a retired Pasco County Libraries employee, spent 40 to 45 hours creating a guitar inspired by Dolly Parton’s song Coat of Many Colors. The artwork was intended to benefit The Angelus, a Hudson nonprofit providing housing and care for adults with developmental disabilities. After numerous attempts to contact Parton directly, Swartz reached out through Jeff Conyers of Parton’s Imagination Library. The guitar was eventually auctioned at Julien’s Auctions in November 2024, selling for $2,500 with proceeds going to The Angelus. Swartz began her charity guitar project around 2006 and has completed about a dozen guitars including one for Taylor Swift. Following Parton’s death, Swartz expressed that the country star will live forever in hearts especially those at The Angelus.
