A couple on vacation had a near-death experience when the husband went into cardiac arrest on Peanut Island, Florida. A doctor on vacation and two other bystanders performed CPR for over 30 minutes, and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) is credited for saving the man’s life. The American Red Cross emphasizes that immediate CPR can significantly increase survival rates for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest cases.
