Suspect Captured After Deadly Altercation in New Port Richey Leaves One Dead

A man wanted for a fatal altercation in New Port Richey was captured Monday morning in Lake City after a multi-agency investigation. Police responded to a disturbance on Hillside Drive at 9:17 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, which escalated into a physical fight. Officers found 39-year-old Odisnel Santana Pena with life-threatening injuries and pronounced him dead at the scene. Investigators identified Ivan Aguilera Torres, 44, as the suspect who fled immediately after the incident. Through surveillance footage and tips from residents, police tracked Torres to Lake City where he was taken into custody by local authorities. The New Port Richey Police Department thanked partner agencies including Tampa Police and Pasco County Sheriff’s Office for their coordination during this investigation.
