Two Tornadoes Strike Pasco County with No Injuries

Two tornadoes touched down in Pasco County on Tuesday afternoon as strong thunderstorms moved inland from the Gulf, according to a preliminary survey by the National Weather Service. The first tornado formed near Hudson at 2:14 p.m., traveled just over a mile, reached peak winds of 85 mph, and caused roof, lanai, carport, and tree damage along Saltwater Boulevard and nearby lanes before weakening near U.S. Highway 19. About 20 minutes later, a second tornado formed west of Shady Hills, traveled less than a mile, also produced 85 mph winds, and primarily uprooted trees, including one that fell on a mobile home on Eden Avenue. No injuries or fatalities were reported from either tornado. The survey findings are preliminary and may be updated in final storm data reports.
