A young Florida panther was killed last week on I-75, marking the first recorded death in Pasco County. Despite fewer than 200 panthers remaining in the wild, 36 were killed by vehicles in 2024, with 9 deaths so far in 2025. The loss of each panther is a significant blow to efforts to rebuild their population.
