New Port Richey City Council approved three public right-of-way vacancies and a city-owned parcel transfer on Grand Boulevard, enabling the $150 million Villa del Sol development. In exchange, the city will receive land south of Fire Station No. 2. The project aims to build 300 apartments and 153 single-family homes on 24 acres at the former abandoned hospital site. Council member Butler raised concerns about drainage impacts but supported the initiatives. The council also added post-Vox Pop comment segments to agendas, appointed a parks board member, and approved summer fee discounts for employees.
