Driver Falls Asleep, Causes Four-Car Crash on I-75 in Pasco County

A Spring Hill man caused a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 in Pasco County after falling asleep at the wheel. The incident occurred near mile marker 284 as traffic slowed approaching an exit ramp. Jesse Palmer, driving a Nissan Frontier, drifted across lanes and struck a Tesla Model Y from behind. The collision caused the Nissan to overturn and hit a Kia Niro, which then rear-ended a Ford F-150. Dash camera footage from the Tesla captured the entire sequence of events. Palmer admitted to investigators that he fell asleep during the drive. He was subsequently cited for careless driving by the Florida Highway Patrol.
