The Zephyrhills Police Department announced on Wednesday the arrest of eight suspects involved in human trafficking activities. Among those arrested were Marvin Thornton of Tampa, charged with attempting to meet a minor for sex and attempted human trafficking, and Glenn Logan of Lakeland, accused of similar offenses. Additionally, Jorge Silva Montebello from Brazil was detained for human trafficking charges. These arrests resulted from a collaborative four-day enforcement operation between Zephyrhills and St. Petersburg police departments. Police Chief Derek Brewer emphasized their ongoing commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals and combating commercial sexual exploitation. This joint effort underscores law enforcement’s dedication to dismantling networks that enable such crimes and reducing the demand driving this illegal trade.
