Florida requires a six-hour classroom-based driving course for teenagers aged 14-1/2 to 17 to get a learner’s permit. The Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) course will no longer be sufficient from August 1. Some teens and parents have been heading early to complete the process before the deadline.
