Hurricane Erin, currently a Category 2 storm, is expected to grow in size and impact the East Coast of the United States from Florida to New England with dangerous surf, rip currents, and coastal flooding. The storm has already caused heavy rains in the Turks and Caicos and the Bahamas, and is likely to strengthen again and regain major hurricane status by midweek.
