Avery Ortiz, a first-grade teacher at Moon Lake Elementary in New Port Richey, Fla., has been recognized for her passion and commitment to education. After working as an instructional assistant and intern at the school, Ortiz now teaches full-time, expressing deep satisfaction in watching children grow academically. Despite breaking her leg earlier this school year and missing classroom time, she emphasized the importance of being present for her students. A parent recently nominated her as an A+ Teacher, highlighting her impact on their child’s happiness and sense of safety. Ortiz, who considers her role her ‘biggest job,’ remains dedicated to fostering a loving and secure learning environment.
