A 24-year-old man in New Port Richey was arrested after attempting to enter a home while dressed in a Halloween costume, including a fake bloody knife and a ‘Scream’ wreath, believing it was Halloween. The homeowner, fearing for her safety, armed herself with a kitchen knife, and a neighbor punched the suspect, knocking him to the ground. The man was charged with attempted burglary, aggravated assault, and other crimes.
