Pasco County Community Honors 3-Year-Old Boy Who Died After Drowning At SunWest Park Festival

A tragic incident occurred at Pasco County’s SunWest Park during the Scallop and Music Festival when a three-year-old boy wandered away from his family and drowned. Witnesses reported panic as deputies and bystanders searched for the child, who was eventually found in the water where CPR was performed before he was transported to a hospital. The young boy later passed away, leaving a heartbreaking impact on those present at the festival. Community members organized an informal memorial at the beach on Sunday, placing flowers, candles, stuffed animals, and toy cars near what they believed to be the child’s belongings. Local officials expressed their deepest condolences to the family, friends, and community through a statement from the Pasco Board of County Commissioners. While investigators have not yet named the victim or his family, witnesses emphasized that children can easily wander off and urged people to remain vigilant. The Pasco Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed whether lifeguards were on duty at the time of the drowning incident.
