Pasco Association for Challenged Kids Celebrates 29 Years of Summer Camp

The Pasco Association for Challenged Kids is celebrating its 29th annual summer camp, a program that has provided opportunities for children with disabilities since 1997. Founded by Paula and Barry Cohen to help their autistic son find suitable summer activities, the camp now serves over 40 local children who might not be accommodated at other facilities. The three-week program runs at Pepin Academies in New Port Richey, Florida, offering a supportive environment where kids can have fun and engage in meaningful activities. While the organization receives some state funding, it relies heavily on donations to keep costs manageable for families. Despite the passage of nearly three decades, founders Cohen remain dedicated to continuing their mission of providing inclusive summer experiences for challenged children in Pasco County.
