A series of lightning strikes occurred in the Tampa Bay area on a recent afternoon, resulting in two separate injuries. The first incident happened around 4:50 p.m. when a man was struck while standing outside a home on Palmilla Circle in the Lake Jovita area. Bystanders immediately began CPR as emergency services were dispatched to the scene. Approximately twenty-five minutes later, a second individual was indirectly struck about four miles away from the first location around 5:15 p.m. This second victim remained conscious and breathing when medical personnel arrived but was transported to a local hospital for precautionary care. Officials have not released the names of either injured person. These recent events follow a deadly lightning outbreak across Florida during the July 4 holiday weekend, which claimed one life and injured several others, including a fatal strike at Fort Myers Beach where three family members were also hurt.
