Port Richey Fire Inspector John Beebe Honored for Community Approach to Safety Inspections

John Beebe, a firefighter and inspector in Port Richey, has earned the reputation of being a trusted figure among local business owners. Unlike previous inspectors who focused solely on pointing out violations, Beebe emphasizes education and collaboration during his visits. Fire Chief Gary Policastri notes that Beebe offers practical suggestions to help businesses meet safety requirements while potentially saving money and time. Since taking over as fire inspector three years ago, Beebe has received only two complaints, both related to costs rather than his interactions with business owners. His approachable style and commitment to helping businesses have led to strong community relationships and recognition from peers at the fire department. Beebe was recently honored as Firefighter/Fire Inspector of the year by fellow first responders in Congressional District 12. With a career spanning over four decades, including volunteer work starting at age eighteen, Beebe continues to serve the Port Richey community with dedication. He views each inspection as an opportunity to educate and assist rather than simply enforce regulations.
