Raising Awareness For Visually Impaired Street Safety In Pasco County

On National White Cane Awareness Day, the Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired in Pasco County organized an event to highlight the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals when crossing streets. Participants blindfolded experienced the difficulties of navigating busy intersections, emphasizing the need for accessible infrastructure like audible crosswalk signals. The event also raised awareness about Florida’s White Cane Law and the services provided by local organizations to support the visually impaired community.
