Florida Recovery Schools of Tampa Bay and Victory High Schools are celebrating five years of operation, having helped more than 200 families in the Tampa Bay area. The nonprofit operates campuses in New Port Richey, Pinellas Park, and Tampa, making it the only accredited recovery school network in Florida and one of just 12 nationwide. The tuition-free schools serve students recovering from substance use disorders and mental health conditions, offering academic instruction alongside therapy and recovery support. One success story highlighted Skye Barnes, who struggled with synthetic marijuana in high school, experienced psychosis, and later graduated with the highest GPA in his class after finding hope at Victory High Schools. Founder Tina Miller, who experienced her own addiction and mental health challenges as a teenager, created the schools to help young people find purpose and recovery. The organization continues to expand as concerns grow about increasingly dangerous substances affecting teenagers.
