Scott Bridges’ Bat Sets 137 mph Speed Record, Faces MLB Rejection

Scott Bridges, a baseball innovation pioneer, developed a carbon Kevlar bat grip in 1999 that reduced breakage and set a 137.77 mph exit velocity record. Despite its success, MLB deemed it illegal, preventing its use in games. Bridges, now selling the historic bat for $39,000, remains hopeful the league may reconsider its stance in the future.
