Steel Beam Tour Honors 9/11 Victims Across America

A 22‑foot steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center’s South Tower is traveling across the United States as part of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s “Steel Across America” tour. The mobile exhibit will stop in 35 locations across 21 states, allowing visitors to see the beam up close, learn about the September 11 attacks, and hear personal stories such as that of Stephen Siller Jr., whose father, an FDNY firefighter, perished in the tragedy. Organizers say the tour aims to keep the memory of the 2,977 victims alive, especially for younger generations who did not experience the events firsthand. Community members at each stop can touch the steel and reflect on the nation’s resilience and the foundation’s ongoing support for first responders and military families. The tour will conclude back at Ground Zero in New York City for the 25th anniversary of the attacks.
