The Florida Highway Patrol arrested a 17-year-old in New Port Richey after the teen was caught driving over 112 mph in a 45 mph zone on May 11 around 2:30 a.m. near US Highway 19 and Fox Hollow Drive. The driver reached speeds exceeding 120 mph while attempting to flee law enforcement, eventually abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot. Authorities apprehended the suspect at St. Thesa Catholic School premises by 3 a.m. The arrest includes charges for fleeing and elude law enforcement, reckless driving, driving without a license, unlawful speed over 50, and grand theft auto.
