Two Boys Sell Drinks to Raise Money for Injured Friend After Bicycle Crash

Two young boys, Ashton Smith and Phoenix Rife, are raising money by selling cold drinks along a busy roadway in Holiday. Their fundraising effort is aimed at supporting Asher Thomson, a ten-year-old friend who was critically injured in a bicycle crash last Friday. Thomson was struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross State Road 52 near Circle K in Hudson and is currently in critical care at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The boys have already raised over $400 through their three-day fundraiser, with plans to continue collecting donations as Thomson’s family prepares for a long recovery. Thomson suffered multiple skull fractures, brain swelling, and severe leg injuries that nearly required amputation after doctors performed two surgeries. Despite the severity of his condition, his family remains hopeful that he will pull through with support from his community.
