Two EF-0 Tornadoes Sweep Hudson and Spring Hill Areas in Pasco County

Two EF-0 tornadoes formed in the Pasco County area on Tuesday afternoon as a severe thunderstorm band moved through, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Stephen Shiveley. The first tornado touched down in Hudson at 2:14 p.m., traveling 1.19 miles before lifting at 2:19 p.m. The second formed near Spring Hill in Hernando County at 2:43 p.m., covering 0.69 miles before dissipating at 2:48 p.m. Both tornadoes had peak wind speeds of 85 mph, causing minor damage such as downed tree limbs, fences, and partial roof damage to a few homes. Shiveley noted that Florida tornadoes usually have short ground tracks and emphasized that there was no major structural loss. The events highlight the region’s vulnerability to brief, low‑intensity tornadoes during severe weather outbreaks.
