Shanna Brady and Sydnee Parkinson, teachers at Skybrooke K-8, have partnered with Bexley Elementary to create a unified basketball team for 20 students, half with special needs and half as ‘buddies’ without special needs. The team practices weekly, aiming to foster inclusion and social skills through sports, with games scheduled for February 11 and March 7. Coaches emphasize the program’s benefits for both players and their peers, highlighting life skills development and community integration.
