A Wesley Chapel man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal crash in Pasco County. The accident occurred around 11:12 p.m. at the intersection of Handcart Road and Old Bridge Road when a Honda CR-V driven by 70-year-old Jaykumar Chaturbhai Patel turned left into the path of a southbound Yamaha motorcycle. Both the motorcycle operator, a 31-year-old man from Zephyrhills, and his 32-year-old female passenger were ejected upon impact. The male rider died from his injuries at the hospital while the female passenger sustained serious injuries. Patel fled the scene initially but was later found at his home where he was arrested and charged with leaving the scene involving death, injury, and property damage.
