A 12-year-old boy riding an electric skateboard was fatally struck by a pickup truck in a Wesley Chapel neighborhood, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident occurred on April 21 at approximately 4:52 p.m. on Moonrise Way within the Crosswinds subdivision. The boy was traveling eastbound when he entered the path of a Ford F-250 pickup that was turning west off Windstar Circle. The truck was operated by a 45-year-old Wesley Chapel resident, troopers confirmed. Emergency responders transported the child to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
