Wesley Chapel Tragedy 12-Year-Old Boy Dies After Pickup Truck Collision

A 12-year-old boy riding an electric skateboard was fatally struck by a pickup truck in a Wesley Chapel neighborhood, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident occurred on April 21 at approximately 4:52 p.m. on Moonrise Way within the Crosswinds subdivision. The boy was traveling eastbound when he entered the path of a Ford F-250 pickup that was turning west off Windstar Circle. The truck was operated by a 45-year-old Wesley Chapel resident, troopers confirmed. Emergency responders transported the child to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have withheld the victim’s identity pending family notification and further investigation. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this fatal collision in the Crosswinds community.
