A woman and her passenger sustained serious injuries after a crash in New Port Richey, Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 59-year-old woman lost control of her car while driving north on U.S. 19 near Cypress Drive around 7 a.m. on May 19, colliding with a utility pole. Both the woman and a 44-year-old man were airlifted to a local hospital. All lanes of US 19 were temporarily closed but reopened by 8:45 a.m.
