A 10-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured Friday afternoon after being struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross State Road 52 near Hudson. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. in the Bayonet Point area near Victory Drive. The child exited a Circle K gas station parking lot and rode directly into the path of a Kia SUV driven by a 45-year-old woman from Hudson. After being hit by the first vehicle, the child was launched in front of a second vehicle, a Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by a 35-year-old man from Riverview. The troopers confirmed that the bicyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, neither driver involved in the collision reported any injuries. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the injured child or details about the other two drivers involved in this tragic incident.
