Republican Anna Paulina Luna has secured her third term in Congress after winning Florida’s 13th Congressional District. The Associated Press called the race for her on Thursday, despite a close two-day counting period with 2,500 votes separating the top two candidates. Luna received 155,117 votes or 49.5 percent while Democrat Leela Gray received 152,600 votes or 48.7 percent. Independent candidate Tony D’Arrigo finished third with 5,779 votes. Luna intends to pursue term limits legislation and will no longer accept PAC or foreign money, relying instead on approximately four million dollars in small-dollar donations. Redistricting appears to have helped by adding some 2024 Trump voters to her district.
