Driver Arrested After Gun Recovered from Fled Vehicle

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) recovered a handgun, extended magazine, and ammunition during a traffic stop in Pasco County, Florida, after a vehicle fled from Tampa police. The Infiniti sedan was tracked by TPD aviation northbound on State Road 589 before troopers intercepted it on County Road 524. A handgun was thrown from the car during the stop, prompting a traffic stop where occupants were detained. The driver, Terrone Amir Jones, was arrested for driving with a suspended license, while passenger Isaiah David Rivera faced firearm charges. The other two passengers were released without charges. TPD will handle separate charges related to the flee-to-elude incident.
