A junior at J.W. Mitchell High School, Ishaanth Ravichandran, spent over a year building wooden training boxes for the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit. The boxes are designed to help K-9s track live human scent during search and rescue operations or when pursuing suspects. The aging plastic boxes were replaced, improving the training of the more than 55 dogs in the unit.
