Florida Mandates Heart Screenings for High School Athletes

Florida has become the first state to mandate mandatory heart screenings for high school student-athletes through the Second Chance Act. This new requirement requires all student-athletes to undergo an electrocardiogram (EKG) to detect potentially life-threatening heart conditions.
