Zephyrhills aviation academy building largest airport hangar for flight training

A new aviation academy is under construction in Zephyrhills, Florida, set to transform the local airport with the largest airplane hangar on site. The Zephyr Aviation Academy will feature a nearly 27,000-square-foot hangar that doubles as classroom and office space, supporting a growing demand for pilot training. Chief flight instructor Mya Neal brings nearly a decade of experience and will guide students through ground school, FAA exams, and hands-on flight instruction. Founder Josh Kindell highlights advances in aviation safety and technology, including aircraft with built-in parachutes and auto-land capabilities, as reasons now is an ideal time to enter the field. The city has extended its runway to 6,200 feet to accommodate business-class jets, reflecting twenty years of industrial corridor preservation that is now paying economic dividends. Zephyr Aviation plans to open this summer and will offer discovery flights for prospective students to experience flight alongside certified pilots.
