Man Arrested After High-Speed Motorcycle Chase in New Port Richey

Jeff Freymuller, a 44-year-old man from Hudson, was arrested in New Port Richey after leading Florida Highway Patrol troopers on a sixteen-minute high-speed chase. The pursuit began around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday when an officer spotted Freymuller riding a sport motorcycle at approximately 104 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone. During the chase, Freymuller accelerated away from pursuing troopers and reached speeds of 145 miles per hour or more while evading attempts to block him. He was eventually arrested near Lake Drive after giving up and putting his hands up around 9:56 p.m. Upon arrest, Freymuller admitted he made a stupid decision and stated he was scared because he had marijuana in his pocket. Troopers also noted they could smell alcohol on his breath, and he admitted to having three to four beers earlier that day while failing a field sobriety test.
