A motorcyclist named Jeff Freymuller was arrested Saturday evening after engaging in a dangerous high-speed chase with Florida Highway Patrol troopers throughout Pasco County. The pursuit began when a trooper spotted the rider traveling at 104 mph in a 45 mph zone on State Road 52, and the motorcyclist continued to accelerate to speeds exceeding 145 mph while evading multiple attempts by troopers to stop him. During the chase, Freymuller weaved through traffic, ran several red lights and stop signs, and made erratic maneuvers including U-turns on highway ramps before eventually slowing down on Lake Drive where he was taken into custody at approximately 9:56 p.m. Upon arrest, police discovered medical marijuana in his possession along with a valid card, though the rider admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that day while boating. Freymuller was charged with fleeing and eluding as well as traveling over 100 mph, commonly known as a super speeder charge, while it remains unclear if he will face additional citations for traffic violations during the pursuit.
