Motorcyclist Killed After Crash With Honda CR-V In Wesley Chapel Leads To Arrests

A fatal motorcycle crash occurred in Wesley Chapel on Saturday night, resulting in the death of a 31-year-old man from Zephyrhills and serious injuries to his passenger. The incident happened at the intersection of Handcart Road and Old Bridge Road around 11:12 p.m. A 70-year-old Wesley Chapel man driving a Honda CR-V attempted a left turn into the path of the southbound Yamaha motorcycle, causing both riders to be ejected from their vehicle. Both victims were transported to an area hospital, but the motorcyclist later died from his injuries. The driver fled the scene after the collision and drove to his residence before being located and arrested by Florida Highway Patrol troopers. Patel faces charges including leaving the scene of a crash involving death, injuries, and property damage, and was taken to Pasco County Jail pending further proceedings.
