New Port Richey Woman Faces DUI Charges After U.S. 19 Crash Into Utility Pole

A New Port Richey woman is facing serious charges after a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 19 early Sunday morning. Florida Highway Patrol reports that Hannah Elizabeth Mackay, 29, lost control of her Mazda CX30 while traveling northbound near Sunray Drive. The vehicle veered off the road, striking a ditch and sidewalk before hitting guide wires supporting a utility pole at approximately 9:25 a.m. Mackay sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Following the incident, authorities arrested her and filed charges including DUI, drug possession, and driving with a suspended license. The crash highlights ongoing safety concerns regarding impaired driving in the area.
