A traffic stop in Pasco County escalated into a dangerous pursuit on Sunday afternoon after a driver fled from a Florida Highway Patrol trooper. The silver Nissan Altima, which had previously fled another stop, was observed by the trooper near Seven Springs Boulevard. After activating emergency equipment for a windshield tint violation, the driver entered a parking lot and then sped away westbound on State Road 54. During the chase, the vehicle lost control on Perrine Ranch Road and rotated before attempting to turn around. The trooper intentionally struck the side of the car after determining the driver was disregarding public safety. Marcus Jerome Dudley, 27, was arrested and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement with disregard for safety.
