Tampa Bay Area Suffers Through Record Breaking Heat Wave

The Tampa Bay area experienced record-breaking temperatures of 100 degrees on Sunday, with the heat index reaching 110 degrees in many areas. A heat dome is the cause, and it is expected to break down slowly, with rain coverage slightly increasing and temperatures dropping back to the lower 90s by the end of the week. Families flocked to water parks to cool off, but the humidity made the conditions particularly tough for visitors from Phoenix.
