Tesla Autopilot Crash Tragic Death in Pasco County

An elderly Wesley Chapel man tragically lost his life after his Tesla vehicle left the roadway and submerged in a pond. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening around 8:10 p.m. on Overpass Road in Pasco County while the car was operating in autopilot mode. The driver, who was 87 years old, was rescued from the water but later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. A 75-year-old female passenger also sustained injuries during the crash but was transported with non-life-threatening conditions. The vehicle struck an electrical box before entering the pond and becoming submerged. Authorities from the Florida Highway Patrol are currently investigating the circumstances that led to this devastating accident. The cause of the crash remains under investigation as officials gather more information about what happened.
