The Wesley Chapel Library in Pasco County officially opened its doors on July 21 with a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by county leaders and community members. The event honored former Commissioner Mike Moore, who played a key role in securing funding for the facility, with the unveiling of the Mike and Lauren Moore Family Room. Since opening in late February, the library has already attracted over 32,000 visitors and checked out more than 50,000 items. Library Director Sean McGarvey noted that community enthusiasm was evident even before opening day, with people waiting outside each morning. The facility features children’s areas, study rooms, rotating art exhibits, and a makerspace offering various programs. Officials hope the large outdoor area will eventually host concerts and author talks once grant funding is secured.
