A seven-year-old child from Lutz sustained serious injuries after being struck by a Tesla while riding a go-kart seated scooter on Thursday evening. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 17800 block of Cloudless Bliss Drive, east of Skybrooke Boulevard, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports. A forty-five-year-old man from Riverview was driving the Tesla westbound when he failed to see the child on the road and collided with him. Investigators confirmed that the Tesla driver was not using autopilot mode at the time of the crash. Emergency medical services transported the injured child to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet released information regarding the current condition of the child or whether criminal charges will be filed in connection with this tragic accident.
