Multiple local captains report excellent fishing conditions along the Pasco coast, with tarpon, redfish, snook, and trout all showing promising activity. Warm water temperatures in the mid-80s to low 90s have caused many species like redfish to become less active and slow-moving, making fresh cut bait the preferred offering over live or artificial lures. Tarpon remain abundant throughout the area, particularly around Anclote Key and deeper flats, responding well to large live baits such as pinfish, grunts, and mullet. Snook are actively spawning on beaches at Anclote Island during summer months, with big fish taking large live baits effectively. Anglers are advised to fish early mornings, evenings, or after dark when fish are more active in the heat of the day. Sharks have been spotted frequently on shallow grass beds throughout the coast, while red snapper remain scarce offshore despite recent season openings.
