Woman Arrested For Driving Recklessly With Children In Car After Drinking

Florida Highway Patrol arrested a 32-year-old woman in Hudson, Florida after she was caught driving recklessly with two young children in her vehicle. A Pasco deputy observed Kari Lynn Roumeliotis speeding and running a stop sign around 3 a.m. on July 7 near U.S. 19 in the area. After stopping for the deputy, she attempted to drive away but crashed into a wall and then reversed into a police SUV. Investigators found signs of impairment and confirmed she had consumed mixed tequila drinks before driving. Her blood alcohol level was measured at 0.134 and later at 0.140 during breath tests conducted by authorities. The woman’s driver’s license had already been revoked due to a prior DUI conviction from December 2025. Her five and nine-year-old children were in the back seat when the incident occurred, while her boyfriend sat in the front passenger seat. Officials released the children to their father’s custody after learning there was an open case involving this family with the Department of Children and Families. Police charged Roumeliotis with multiple offenses including DUI with minors in the vehicle, DUI causing property damage, and driving while license revoked.
